It's certainly hard to believe it has already been 4 years since starting Wilson's Handyman Services!
It almost seems like yesterday I was sitting in a classroom setting learning about all the aspects of starting a new business, yet; here I am and it's all thanks to people like you who have had confidence in my handyman abilities.
I've always told people "I'm no pro, but I do take pride in my work, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I know how to do a lot of things, but I'm just a Handyman'.
Clients seem to appreciate that and that works for me too.
I question myself sometimes and wonder why I am 21 feet up in the air against the side of a house replacing a bathroom exhaust vent or crawling around inside an attic at 140 degrees in the dead of the heat installing and insulating rigid pipe to ensure proper ventilation for my client's home. The answer, however, comes clearly.
I enjoy doing what I do, I am needed, appreciated and I am paid to do these things.
When I launched my business and registered with the government and retained my Master Business Licence in April of 2014, I wondered where I would be down the road. There were a slew of questions on my mind. Questions like: Would I make it? Will there be enough work for me? Will I be able to understand the logistics of running a business? Understanding taxation with the Government? ...and the list goes on.
Yet here I am celebrating 4 years in business as a Sole Proprietor! pretty exciting, but not so much in the dead of winter when we are all hibernating. Business is very slow - like most businesses in the winter time.
Now that spring is in full swing, my cell phone has begun to ring once again.
I would not change this for anything. Sure, self employment has some down falls, but doesn't everything?
I just wanted to share a few words to thank my customers for believing in me, for having patience and understanding and for being so kind.
Thank you!
